An Introduction to the Museum
Introduce the visitors to the features of the exhibitions and the exhibits or collections, as well as the services and activities provided or held by the museum.

An Introduction to the Special Exhibition
Some of the exhibitions in the museum will have guided tours. Visitors will have a better understanding of the background and features of an exhibition through the introduction.

Admission Free

Applications for free admittance are welcomed from schools, associations and other non-profit institutions. To qualify for free admittance, registered groups must comprise not less than 10 persons.

Free Transportation Service

Applications for shuttle bus are welcomed from schools, associations and other non-profit institutions. To qualify for free transportation service, registered groups must comprise not less than 18 persons.

Any interested party can get an application form from the reception desk on the 1st floor or the library on the ground floor, request the form by fax or by telephone (within office hours), or download the form online. When the form is finished, please send back or fax to the museum.

Multimedia Library

The library affiliated with the Macao Museum of Art is the only art library in the region. The library collects thousands of books on visual arts, including the fields of history of arts, paintings, calligraphy, archaeological finds, ceramics, Western arts, architecture, design, films, photography and illustrated children's books. Visitors can also find over 10 kinds of foreign and Chinese artistic magazines, as well as Chinese, Portuguese and English newspapers.

There are computers in the library, which are free of charge for local citizens to browse artistic websites. The 2 individual audiovisual rooms allow citizens the chance to enjoy some of our collection of nearly 500 Chinese and overseas classical movies and animations.

Tuesday to Friday: 2:00pm - 7:00pm

Saturday and Sunday: 11:00pm - 7:00pm

Museum Auditorium

The museum auditorium, which is located on the first floor of the museum, can hold 108 people. It is suitable for holding symposiums, lectures and video appreciations. The museum auditorium is well equipped with audio, lighting, screen, video recorder, projector, slide projector, overhead projector, DVD player, CD player and voice recorder facilities.

Museum Shop

The Museum Shop located on the first floor sells catalogues, postcards and posters published by the museum, a range of books and gifts relating to Macao, as well as products of art and culture imported from France and other places. Friends of the Macao Museum of Art entitle a 10% discount upon purchase of MAM publications at the Museum Shop.

Palace Museum Shop

The Palace Museum Shop located on the 1st floor of MAM is the first of Palace’ official branch shops. Besides various types of Palace souvenirs, including porcelains, replicas of paintings, handcrafts, silk products, catalogues and other souvenirs, there are educational products for children as well.
